Certification Readiness
Expert guidance from gap assessment to certification audit — delivered by practitioners who have prepared real suppliers through national aerospace industrial development programs.
Why It Matters
AS9100 (design and manufacturing), AS9110 (maintenance and repair) and AS9120 (parts distribution) certification is not just another quality credential: it is the entry requirement for doing business with major OEMs and their Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. Without it, your company simply does not appear on the procurement radar of the global aerospace industry. With it, your organization is registered in the IAQG OASIS database — visible to sourcing teams across the entire sector.
For Latin American companies, certification is the difference between competing for high-value aerospace manufacturing and services contracts, or remaining confined to low-margin local markets. This is not a cyclical window: it is structural, driven by capacity shortages and supplier-diversification policies that will remain active for years — but it will fill with whoever certifies first.
Strategic Timing
The industry is in the midst of a regulatory shift: the IAQG will publish the new revision of the standard — rebranded IA9100 — toward the end of 2026, aligned with ISO 9001:2026, with a two-to-three-year transition period. Our program incorporates from the outset the elements the new revision emphasizes: demonstrable quality culture, counterfeit-part prevention with end-to-end traceability, human factors, and digital management of the system.
Who This Is For
Machining, composites, electronics, special processes — seeking to enter the aerospace supply chain.
Aircraft maintenance organizations seeking accreditation with international clients.
Already certified companies ready to step up to the aerospace standard.
Current defense-sector suppliers needing to formalize their management system for international programs.
Aeronautical parts distributors that need documented traceability of origin and storage controls under the standard.
The Program
Full assessment of your current management system against the applicable standard. Deliverable: a prioritized gap report and a realistic roadmap with efforts, owners and timelines.
Building or adjusting your quality management system documentation: policy, objectives, processes, procedures and work instructions — including aerospace-specific requirements. We work with your team, not instead of your team.
Training for leadership and operational staff, internal auditor training, and support through your first internal audits.
Complete readiness audit, closure of nonconformities, guidance in selecting an accredited certification body, and support through Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits. Certification is granted by an independent accredited body — our role is to ensure your organization walks into that audit ready to pass it.
Deliverables
Why GlobalADInsights
This program is not led by a generic consultant. It is delivered by a team with over 35 years of combined experience in the aerospace and defense industry, with a track record that uncommonly spans both sides of AS9100 certification:
Our team led the gap closure, implementation of the standard’s requirements —integrated with the organization’s other management systems— and their validation between 2016 and 2020, through to CIAC’s AS9100 and AS9110 certification and the subsequent administration of the certified system. Our experience also includes coordination of integrated management processes at the Colombian Air Force and the training of internal quality auditors. The team includes AS9100 Rev. D Lead Auditors.
Our team participated in Colombia’s national aerospace supplier-development programs sponsored by Colombia Productiva between 2019 and 2025, working with nearly 200 SMEs — assessing them against AS9100 requirements, industry best practices, and OEM and Tier supplier requirements.
Our team knows both sides of the standard: what it requires — because we have implemented, audited and sustained it inside real aerospace organizations — and what an aerospace buyer looks for when evaluating a new supplier — because we have assessed nearly 200 companies against exactly those requirements. That dual perspective is the difference between getting certified and becoming a supplier.
Duration & Investment
A typical readiness program runs six to twelve months, depending on your current management system maturity, the scope of certification, and internal team availability. The on-site assessment defines the realistic timeline for your specific case. Investment is defined after that assessment, based on your organization's size and management maturity.
FAQ
No formal prerequisite. The aerospace standard includes all ISO 9001 requirements plus the aerospace-specific ones, so you can implement it directly. If you already have ISO 9001, the path is shorter.
AS9100 applies to organizations that design or manufacture products for the aerospace industry. AS9110 applies to MRO organizations. AS9120 covers distributors. The free online assessment indicates which one applies to your operation.
No — and be wary of anyone who promises otherwise. Certification is the entry condition: it makes you eligible and visible. Converting that eligibility into contracts requires genuine competitive capability.
AS9100D certifications remain valid, and there will be a two-to-three-year transition period. Our program builds your system with the new revision's emphases incorporated from the start, so the transition is an adjustment, not a reconstruction.
We serve organizations across Latin America, in Spanish and English, through a combined model: structured remote work and on-site presence at the milestones that require it.
Get Started
Answer 25 questions and receive your readiness level immediately, with a breakdown by area and the concrete actions for your first 90 days. It takes 10 to 12 minutes, costs nothing, and the full report reaches your inbox. If you then want a deeper reading, the on-site assessment verifies real evidence and is scoped with each organization.
Market Entry Advisory
Whether you are an international company entering Latin America or a regional company ready to compete beyond its borders — we know how procurement works, what buyers value, and how to position your capabilities to win.
Why Latin America, Why Now
Latin America's aerospace and defense sector is undergoing a structural shift. Defense budgets across the region are expanding under modernization mandates, commercial aviation is recovering above pre-pandemic levels, and space programs in Colombia, Chile and Argentina are moving from aspiration to procurement. Post-pandemic supply chain restructuring is driving OEMs and Tier suppliers to actively seek geographic diversification — and Latin America's cost structure, time zone alignment with North America and Europe, and growing technical talent pool make it a credible destination.
At the same time, the most capable Latin American companies — those that have invested in quality systems, technical infrastructure and international certifications — are ready to compete beyond the region. The opportunity exists in both directions, but navigating it requires the same thing in either case: a deep understanding of how procurement processes actually work, what international buyers require from new suppliers, and how to present capabilities in terms that resonate with selection committees.
The Real Challenge
Most organizations — whether entering Latin America or competing internationally from within it — arrive with solid technical capabilities and limited intelligence about how procurement actually works in practice. They understand the macro picture but not the operational reality: how selection processes are structured, what evaluation criteria carry the most weight, what documentation and certifications are required at each stage, and how decisions move from technical evaluation to contract award. Our advisory fills exactly that gap — not with generic market data, but with 35+ years of direct team experience on both sides of these processes.
Who This Is For
Companies evaluating Latin America as a manufacturing base, a sourcing region, or a sales market for platforms, systems and components.
International defense firms navigating government procurement frameworks, offset obligations and direct commercial programs across Latin American defense institutions.
Investment funds and private equity firms evaluating A&D assets, supplier consolidation opportunities or sector-specific exposure in Latin American markets.
Latin American aerospace and defense companies ready to compete internationally — seeking to understand international procurement standards, certification requirements and how to position their capabilities to OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 buyers.
How We Work
Structured analysis of procurement processes, evaluation frameworks and selection criteria in your target markets. We map how decisions are made at each stage — from technical qualification to contract award — and identify where your capabilities fit and what gaps need to be addressed before engaging. Deliverable: a prioritized market brief with entry scenarios and specific readiness requirements.
Definition of your entry mode (direct sales, distributor, joint venture, industrial partnership, offset program), sequencing and positioning adapted to the procurement culture of each target country. Includes an assessment of your technical and certification profile against what buyers in your segment actually require.
For international companies: guidance on how to present and package your capabilities to Latin American procurement evaluators. For Latin American companies: connection with OEM, Tier 1 and Tier 2 requirements through industry associations, sector networks and alliances with specialized partners in other countries and in offset program management.
Retained advisory for organizations actively pursuing contracts: bid preparation support, procurement process navigation, regulatory guidance and strategic counsel as opportunities develop. Monthly briefings and on-demand access to a senior advisor with direct knowledge of the processes you are navigating.
Deliverables
Why GlobalADInsights
There is no shortage of market reports on Latin America. What is scarce is a team that has spent decades inside the region's aerospace and defense ecosystem — not analyzing it from the outside, but participating directly in procurement processes, quality system implementation, supplier development and industrial policy. Our team brings over 35 years of combined operational experience across those disciplines, and engagements are staffed according to scope: the specialists involved depend on what the work requires.
Our team's experience spans both sides of procurement processes — structuring and executing them from within government and state-owned aerospace organizations, and preparing suppliers to compete in them. That gives us detailed knowledge of how evaluation committees work, what selection criteria carry weight at each stage, and what a supplier needs to demonstrate to advance from technical qualification to contract award. Our specialists cover procurement process analysis, quality systems and certification (AS9100/AS9110), market intelligence, and offset program management.
Through supplier development programs with more than 200 SMEs in Colombia's aerospace sector, our team understands in detail what OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers require from new sources — and how to close the gap between existing LATAM capabilities and those requirements. Combined with alliances with specialized partners in other countries and in offset program management, we connect capabilities to opportunities across the region.
Janes tells you what equipment a country operates. Aviation Week tells you what contracts were awarded. We tell you how selection processes work, what they evaluate, and how to position your organization to be taken seriously when the next one opens. That is the difference between market intelligence and procurement intelligence.
Duration & Investment
A market and procurement intelligence engagement typically runs six to twelve weeks. Retained advisory engagements are structured in six-month blocks with monthly deliverables. Investment is scoped to each engagement following the initial briefing, where we define objectives, countries and services required. The initial briefing call is complimentary.
FAQ
Our primary coverage spans Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina and Ecuador — markets with active aerospace and defense procurement and accessible regulatory frameworks. Brazil operates as a largely self-contained ecosystem and is generally outside our primary scope, though we can support specific engagements there through our partner network. The initial briefing establishes which countries are relevant for your objectives and where the highest-probability opportunities exist today.
No. We are an independent advisory firm. We do not take commissions on transactions, hold no exclusive arrangements with vendors, and have no financial interest in any sale or contract. Our role is to provide intelligence and advisory — the decisions and commercial relationships belong to our clients.
A market report tells you what the market looks like. Our advisory tells you how it works — specifically, how procurement processes are structured, what evaluation criteria apply at each stage, and what your organization needs to do to be competitive. That operational knowledge is not in any published report.
Contacts are valuable. What our advisory adds is process knowledge — understanding how procurement decisions are structured, what formal and informal evaluation criteria apply, and what a supplier needs to demonstrate at each stage to advance. That complements any existing relationships.
With a complimentary 45-minute briefing call. We discuss your objectives, your current position, and the markets or opportunities you are evaluating. By the end of the call you will have a clearer picture of what the path forward looks like and whether a full engagement makes sense. No commitment required.

In this policy, the Data Controller is also referred to as «GlobalADInsights».
This policy is issued pursuant to Article 15 of the Colombian Political Constitution, Statutory Law 1581 of 2012, Single Regulatory Decree 1074 of 2015 —which compiled Decree 1377 of 2013— and any rules that amend, supplement or replace them, as well as the instructions issued by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), Colombia's data protection authority.
This policy applies to all personal data of natural persons that GlobalADInsights collects, stores, uses or otherwise processes through the website forms and the communications arising from them, as well as to browsing data collected through analytics cookies when the Data Subject authorizes it. It is binding on the Data Controller and on the Data Processors that process data on its behalf.
GlobalADInsights' services are aimed at companies and organizations. The data processed belong to the natural persons who act on their behalf or represent them, or who are interested in its services.
For the purposes of this policy, the definitions of Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1074 of 2015 apply:
GlobalADInsights applies the principles of Article 4 of Law 1581 of 2012 to the processing of personal data:
GlobalADInsights processes the data that the Data Subject voluntarily provides through the website forms, the technical data generated when the Data Subject receives its emails and when he or she grants authorization and, when the Data Subject authorizes it, the browsing data described in section 19:
Fields marked as mandatory in each form are those needed to handle the Data Subject's request. All other fields are optional.
GlobalADInsights does not request or process sensitive data as defined in Article 5 of Law 1581 of 2012, such as data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political orientation, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of trade unions or social or human rights organizations, or data concerning health, sex life and biometric data. Data Subjects are asked not to include this type of information in the free-text fields of the forms. If received, it will be deleted.
GlobalADInsights' services are not aimed at minors, and no data of children or adolescents are collected. If data of a minor are found to have been received, they will be deleted.
Personal data will be collected, stored, consulted, used, updated, transmitted to the Data Processors listed in section 10 and deleted, exclusively for the following purposes:
GlobalADInsights does not sell, rent or assign personal data to third parties for commercial or advertising purposes, nor does it subject them to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects for the Data Subject. The self-assessment score is for information only.
Any purpose other than those listed here will require a new authorization from the Data Subject.
Commercial and follow-up communications under purposes c) and d) will be made only through the channels the Data Subject has authorized, Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (Colombia time), never on Sundays or public holidays, and with the frequency permitted by Law 2300 of 2023. The Data Subject may at any time indicate the channels through which he or she prefers to be contacted, or ask not to be contacted.
The Data Subject's authorization is obtained in a prior, express and informed manner, through checkboxes that the Data Subject actively ticks in the form before submitting it. The checkboxes are not ticked by default. A privacy notice with a link to this policy is placed next to them.
Authorization to receive sector publications (purpose d) is requested in a separate, optional checkbox. Declining it does not prevent the Data Subject from receiving the requested report or being assisted.
Authorization for analytics cookies is obtained through the website's cookie notice, which offers «Accept» and «Reject» options with equal prominence. Until the Data Subject clicks «Accept», these cookies are not set. By accepting them, the Data Subject also authorizes the transmission of browsing data to Google, under the terms of section 10. The Data Subject may change this decision at any time through the «Cookies» link at the bottom of every page.
GlobalADInsights keeps proof of each authorization —date, time, IP address, text accepted and version of this policy— and will make it available to the Data Subject upon request.
Under Article 10 of Law 1581 of 2012, no authorization is required for information requested by a public or administrative entity in the exercise of its legal duties or by court order, for data of a public nature, in cases of medical or health emergency, for processing authorized by law for historical, statistical or scientific purposes, or for data related to the civil registry of persons.
To provide its services, GlobalADInsights relies on the following providers, which act as Data Processors and process the data on behalf of and under the instructions of the Data Controller:
| Data Processor | Function | Location of processing |
|---|---|---|
| Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) | Email delivery and contact management | France and Belgium (European Union) |
| Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd.) | Hosting of the website and its database | Massachusetts, United States |
| Google (Google LLC) | Website audience measurement (Google Analytics), only with the Data Subject's authorization | United States |
Because these providers are located outside Colombia, sending data to them constitutes an international transmission of personal data. It is carried out under Articles 2.2.2.25.5.1 and 2.2.2.25.5.2 of Decree 1074 of 2015, through the data processing agreements that form part of each provider's terms of service. These agreements are governed by the European Union General Data Protection Regulation and contain obligations equivalent to those that Colombian law imposes on Data Processors. Under them, each Data Processor undertakes to: (i) process the data to provide the service, following the Data Controller's instructions; (ii) adopt appropriate security measures; (iii) maintain confidentiality; (iv) not disclose the data to third parties, except to its sub-processors, subject to equivalent obligations, or when required by law; (v) report security incidents to the Data Controller; and (vi) delete the data when the relationship ends, under the conditions set out in each agreement.
In addition, the United States and the Member States of the European Union, where these providers operate, are included in the list of countries with an adequate level of personal data protection established by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce in External Circular 005 of 2017.
Some sub-processors of these providers operate in other countries, including the United States. In those cases, the providers apply the safeguards set out in their contracts, such as the European Union standard contractual clauses.
Under its terms of service, Brevo may make limited use of technical data from email sends, such as IP address and open and click logs, to ensure the security and availability of its service and to produce usage statistics, in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.
For Google Analytics, processing is governed by the data processing terms that Google offers to users of this tool. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store visitors' IP addresses. GlobalADInsights does not enable advertising or cross-device tracking features in this tool. Google processes these data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
GlobalADInsights does not transfer personal data to third parties acting as Data Controllers, except at the request of a competent authority, in the cases permitted by Article 26 of Law 1581 of 2012, or in the situation described in section 20 of this policy.
If GlobalADInsights replaces or adds a Data Processor, it will update this section before transmitting any data to it.
Under Article 8 of Law 1581 of 2012, the Data Subject has the right to:
GlobalADInsights does not charge any fee for handling enquiries or claims.
The rights of Data Subjects may be exercised by:
GlobalADInsights will only request the information strictly necessary to verify the identity or standing of the person making the request.
In compliance with Article 17 of Law 1581 of 2012, GlobalADInsights undertakes, among other duties, to:
Requests, enquiries and claims related to the processing of personal data are handled directly by the Data Controller, who also acts as personal data protection officer, through the following channels:
The request must include, at a minimum: the full name of the Data Subject and, where applicable, of the person acting on his or her behalf; a clear description of the enquiry or claim; the physical or email address to receive the response; and any supporting documents.
The Data Subject or the persons entitled may consult the personal information held in GlobalADInsights' databases. The Data Controller will provide all the information contained in the individual record or linked to the Data Subject's identification.
Enquiries will be answered within a maximum of ten (10) business days from receipt. When this is not possible, the requester will be informed, before the deadline, of the reasons for the delay and the date on which the enquiry will be answered, which in no case may exceed five (5) business days after the first deadline.
A Data Subject or entitled person who considers that information in a database should be corrected, updated or deleted, or who notices an alleged breach of any of the duties set out in the law, may file a claim, which will be handled as follows:
Revocation of authorization and deletion of data
The Data Subject may at any time revoke the authorization granted and/or request the deletion of his or her data by filing a claim under this section. Revocation may be total, covering all purposes, or partial, covering only some of them, such as receiving publications. Revocation and deletion will not apply when the Data Subject has a legal or contractual duty to remain in the database.
In addition, every publication email includes a link to unsubscribe immediately, without the need to file a claim.
Once a deletion request has been fulfilled, only the record of the request and its handling will be kept, to prove compliance with the law.
Under Article 16 of Law 1581 of 2012, the Data Subject or successor in title may only file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce after exhausting the enquiry or claim procedure before GlobalADInsights.
GlobalADInsights adopts reasonable technical, human and administrative measures to protect personal data against tampering, loss, consultation, use or unauthorized or fraudulent access, including: encrypted transmission through a TLS certificate; access to information restricted by personal credentials, with temporary lockout after failed login attempts and automatic closing of inactive sessions; access limited to those who need it to perform their duties; and the requirement that Data Processors maintain equivalent security conditions.
If an incident compromises the security of personal data, GlobalADInsights will report it to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce in accordance with applicable regulations and will take the necessary measures to mitigate its effects.
The website www.globaladinsights.com uses cookies, which are small files that the browser stores on the Data Subject's device. Two types are used:
With the information from these cookies, GlobalADInsights only consults aggregated statistical reports, such as the number of visits, the most read pages, countries of origin or device type. It does not identify visitors, does not combine this information with form data and does not use it for advertising purposes. Google Analytics keeps visit-level detail for two (2) months and the data associated with the cookie identifier for fourteen (14) months from the Data Subject's last visit. After these periods, only the aggregated statistical reports remain.
The Data Subject may withdraw this authorization at any time through the «Cookies» link at the bottom of every page: clicking «Reject» deletes the analytics cookies and stops them from being set. Cookies can also be blocked or deleted in the browser settings. Rejecting analytics cookies does not prevent use of the website.
Personal data will be kept only for the reasonable and necessary time to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected, as follows:
Once these periods have expired, and if there is no legal duty to retain them, the data will be deleted or anonymized so that the Data Subject cannot be identified.
GlobalADInsights' databases will remain in force for as long as the Data Controller carries out the activities that justify the processing described in this policy, without prejudice to the retention periods set out here and to the Data Subject's right to request deletion of his or her data at any time.
If the Data Controller incorporates a company to continue the activity of GlobalADInsights, personal data may be transferred to that company, which will become the Data Controller, for the same purposes and under a processing policy offering at least the same guarantees. Data Subjects will be informed in advance and will retain all their rights, including the right to revoke their authorization.
Any substantial change to this policy, in particular changes regarding the identity of the Data Controller or the purposes of the processing, will be communicated to Data Subjects in a timely manner through the website and, where appropriate, by email, before it takes effect. When the change concerns the purposes of the processing, a new authorization will be requested.
Each version of this policy is identified by a number and an effective date, and GlobalADInsights keeps a record of the version accepted by each Data Subject.
This policy takes effect on October 23, 2026 and will remain in force until it is amended or replaced.
